Even the draught, we duck hunt!
The end of season can´t be better. We hunt lot of birds at Los Laureles lodge together with Dick KK from Global Sporting, US. His hosted group enjoy a lot the birdshooting trip. On the arrival day everything looks really bad because a big, big storm. But then... duck, dove and perdiz hunt was excellent. I really enjoy a lot sharing this unforgettable hunting experience with this group: John Galli, Frank Straw, John, Russell and Wesley Owens, Richard Polly, West Waugh, LaVon Wenger and Dick KK.

FLY FISHING REPORT
July 20th

Grand slam in Cayo Largo.
Jan Hadrecky, only 12 year only, made 2 grand slam in only 3 fishing days. Jan is an excellent fisherman who cast more than 25 yards long with great precision. Without doubt Cayo Largo is one of the great fly fishing destinations. If your are planing your first saltwater fly fishing grand slam think about Cayo Largo.

BIRD SHOOTING REPORT
June 15-20th

Trip of a lifetime.
Our good friend Dick Kennerknecht, from Casper-WY, has organized a truly 'trip of a lifetime' for this group. After staying one night at the Alvear Hotel in the nice neighborhood of Recoleta -the heart of Buenos Aires city- we departed on charter flight to Guamini area, considered one of the best places in Argentina for bird hunting. We stayed at La Sistina Lodge. Duck hunting was unblebable: everybody shoot the limit of 20 ducks per day per hunter!!! Then, during the afternoon the party get crazy with the dove shooting quality: plenty of birds. Some of them shoot 20 boxes, but Kelvin and Victor shoot more than 40 each!!! amazing... One of the journeys we organize a relaxed, but interesting hunt: pheasant, pigeon, hare and perdiz walking with dogs, the group enjoy a lot this outing. Victor, an entusiasthic hunter, also decide to make a big game hunt. Results, can be better: Feral Goat, Fallow Deer, Muflon, Ram and Blackbuck Antelope. We are waiting the final result, but a first measurement said that one of the ram probably will be Top 4 on the SCI Southamerican record, and one of the Blackbucks, probably Top 6. Can´t you imagine, two Top 10 trophies in only one day? Congratulations Victor!!! Back to Buenos Aires on a charter flight, they departed back to US promising themselves to return soon.

DORADO FISHING REPORT
May 30th - 2009, Corrientes province Argentina

Close to the Dorado world record on the fly!
Our fishing guide in Corrientes province had probably cought his lifetime fish. A monster freshwater Dorado of 42 pounds, taken with # 8 rod. He fight during 45-minute to finally landed, take the picture and release back to the Parana river. Good work Peto, you did it!!!

April 20th - 2009, La Pampa province Argentina

Amazing hunt!
Darrel and Jack Henry, make their first big game hunt in Argentina after hunting in Africa. Results can´t be better: two silver medal red stag, 2 gold medal fallow deer, very nice water buffalo and blackcuck antelope, muflon and a last minute surprise: high volume doveshooting just 30-minute far from the big game hunting lodge. Darrell and Jack please heard me: you are really lucky guys!!!

DUCK and DOVE HUNTING + SEA TROUT FISHING REPORT
March 29th - 2009, Santa Fe province and Rio Gallegos, Argentina

Trip of a lifetime.
Our good friend Alexander Kennedy, from London-UK, has organized for his friends a truly 'trip of a lifetime'. In San Javier area -consider the best place in Argentina for duck hunt- no one of the party have problem to shoot the limit: 50 ducks per day per hunter!!! Two hunts was enough, so the group move to the other side of the Parana river, to one of the best lodges in Argentina where they will make high volume dove shooting (Note: one of the hunters shoot 47 boxes in only half day hunt). As the weather is so pleasant in this area during March, some of them decide to enjoy the pool and some of them go fishing for freshwater Dorado. Back to Buenos Aires on a charter flight, they depart on March 21st to Rio Gallegos. They book a weekly program for Sea trout fly fishing in one of the mos challenging and beautiful rivers of Patagonia. Nice fish, lot of fun and red wine!

More and more good news from San Javier!
Bryan Mullett´s party have a great time at San Javier, on thei first dove shooting - duck hunting combo in Argentina, in only 2 days - 4 hunts, they shoot 822 duck. 12 hunters: Bob, Bryan, Erick, Chip, Woody, Don, Bill, Steve, Fucks, Pat, Grant and Harry. DORADO FISHING REPORT
January 18th - 2009, Santa Fe province - Argentina

Dorado fishing trip...
The Parana river delta is suffering from the lowest water levels in 50 years. While the Parana is a gigantic river delta, (one of the largest in the world) the rivers that bleed out of the Parana are 4-7 feet lower than normal. We did find fish, but we worked our asses off to get them. Mornings and evenings were best. Our guides worked their butts off to scratch and scrape for fish. They clearly knew where to find the fish and the flies that would work. The boats were in good shape and ran well. Overall we had a great time, the lodge provided a high level of service and if the fish had cooperated we would probably still be there.

The dove shooting season still continue...
November and December are as good as the last 10 month. Plenty of birds to shoot, with an average of 55 boxes per day per hunter!!! Unbelievable. And, if you want more, you got it. Just ask for a blast. Together with the shooting, enjoy at Los Laureles lodge the first class lodging, the nice pool and if you like fishing we can organize outing for the combative freshwater Dorado. All in the same place, all for you and your friends.

Opening season: Dorado fishing on San Pedro area, close to Buenos Aires.
Last week the first fishermen of the 2008-2009 season start to arrive. The fishing conditions in San Pedro area -were we organize daily fishing trips from Buenos Aires- are very good. We caught 7 Dorado from 3 to 6 pound. The fishing conditions are going to be very good during November and December, hope all the want that love fly fishing, join us.

The fishing season on Santa fe province start as well as the last years: excellent. During the last week of September, fishing at El Timbo lodge -were we stay- was excellent. A lot of Dorado from 3 to 9 pound has been caught on the fly. We have great expectations for the next 6 moths. If you are planning a fishing trip to Argentina, phone us or just send an e-mail. Great openning of the bird shooting season.
The first groups are finishing their hunts and getting back home. The results can´t be better: excellent hunting, even the warm weather during the first 3 week of May.

May 2nd - 2008, Salta province - Argentina

The Juramento and the Dorado rivers with excellent fishing!
We receive a phone call from Sebastian, our guide in Salta. He told us that after a some difficulties because of the flood during February and March, April was really good. The last tow weeks they caught several Dorado´s in the crystal clear waters of the Dorado river. The size of the fish were from 3 to 10 pounds.
Dorado fishing in Argentina is now in an excellent moment! Here in Salta the season finish next November, opposite to the other areas we fish in the delta of the Parana river.

The Red Stag rut has start and is getting better and better!!!
I´ve been staying together with Arni Baldurson from Lax-a Iceland at La Pampa and Mendoza. The hunt can´t be better: Wild boar, Water Buffalo, Red stag, Blackbuck and Puma. We had a great time. Summer hunt, more than 900 ducks!!! 3 days / 10 guns.
San Javier area is still leading the ranking of the best places where to hunt ducks in Argentina all year round. Matt Smith´s party, all of them from Oregon, US spend a great time shooting the last week of Febraury. They shoot more than 900 hundred duck, drink hundreds of beers and also fish freshwater Dorado and Piranhas: more that 50 fish in only 2 outings! We will be waiting them again next year for their Cast & Blast Argentina trip.

January 2nd - 2008, Limay river, Bariloche area - Argentina

The "big ones" on the Limay river.
The Limay do it once again... the only river where a 10 pound brown or rainbow trout can be fish. Daniel Beilinson fished this super nice brown trout last week, with a #5 rod, a sinking line, a 7,5 feet leader, 3x tippet and olive Wolly Bugger. Bariloche is still giving us this amazig records. The season runs up to April, join us!

December 13th - 2007, San Pedro area, Buenos Aires province - Argentina

Flyfishing for Dorado just 90-minute drive from Buenos Aires city?????
YES, and with excellent results. The conditions can't be better! The Parana river and it´s delta give us an incredible fishing. The big floods this area receive last march are showing today how many dorado arrive to San Pedro. Our last report, on Dec.12th is the following: 8 hour fishing, 12 Dorado landed, from 1 to 3kg!!! And more than 30 strikes. How many fishermen? Only one. The international well known Daniel Beilinson. If you are arriving to Argentina during the next 90 days, going for Trout or Sea trout, you can miss this unique opportunity to fly fish for Dorado on a daily trip. The season runs up to April. December 5th - 2007, Entre Rios province - Argentina

We been fishing last week at Los Laureles lodge and the results can't be better! The Parana river and it´s delta give us an incredible fishing. 2 days / 2 rods more than 35 Dorado landed between 2 to 9 pounds!!! The water conditions were excellent and the weather warm... the swimming pool was perfect to relax after lunch, and to be prepared for the evening fishing. We also have a nice surprise: we fish 3 "Chafalote´s" a very difficult fish to be found... but we were lucky. Start preparing your gear and fishing tackle you can´t miss Parana river this season. Fishing for Dorado from now till April is an excellent time to come to Los Laureles Lodge.

BIRD SHOOTING REPORT
August 3rd, 2007, Entre Rios province

Hi folks! We are hunting in Santa Fe area, in one of the best places for ducks in Argentina. During the last two days the weather was really bad, but for hunters this means paradise. Perfect for duck hunt: some rain, little beet windy, and cold. During the morning we went for ducks, and everybody cover the limit: 20 duck per hunter per outing!!!! You know, the group is happy, even more after lunch: the last three days they went for high volume dove shooting and Perdiz hunt. The doves were flying high and fast, but most of them shoot at least 16 boxes in just 2 hours hunt. The perdiz was also amazing. Darlene, Dennis and Dick went yesterday afternoon and they all reach the limit. The Britney's make a good work. Back to the lodge by 6.00 pm, with some delicatessen waiting accompanied with excellent wine the group can't stop laughing and joking about the hunts made. To finish: famous Argentine beef: mummm!!!
